I truly enjoyed meeting each of you at this year's institute and want to thank you for taking part in what is a very special event to me. I am grateful to be working with such an inspiring group of teachers. I hope that you came away from the experience feeling refreshed and ready to practice some new ideas.
I created this blog as a place for us to continue to communicate and share questions and suggestions. I hope that you will participate in posting your thoughts and experiences as you begin working with Plugged-in to Reading and/or Plugged-in to Nonfiction.
Enjoy the photo story I've posted below!

Thanks for the opportunity to blog. This is my first. The video you posted is really nice. One day I will learn to do that. As for the Institute, it was great. I never once felt like I was going to fall asleep (unlike some of the breakout sessions that I have attended hear at the Just Read Conference; everything at the Institute was so engaging. When the new school year starts, I look forward to trying some things I learned, even though it will be in a Read 180 class. I have already shared with one of the teachers I worked with as a reading coach at my old school the "Expert" strategy. She plans on using it in her science classroom. I will continue to check in with this blog to see what others are doing. I want to hear about all trials in the classrooms. I am so looking forward to this experience.
The Institute was a great experience. I learned a lot. It was also great to see everyone. I enjoyed lunch at Mimi's with all of my SC and NC friends.
